Beautiful rainbow hand dyed gradient organic wool. Very soft, very pretty and quite nice knitted up in this tunic dress. Quite a disappointment that the little girl wouldn't wear it ever again after the first and only modelling photo session.

Cabled vest
I love cables. I hadn't knit cabled garment for a long time though. Recently I knitted this vest for myself. Now I have some upcoming projects in mind and if thoughts materialize I should have something to post in the nearest future.
It is nice to create texture. Cables match beautifully with other stitch patterns and it is interesting to think of different ways how to allocate cables along the garment.

Entrelac dress
I love Entrelac technique. Have used it in few projects but those were in my pre-Ravelry and pre-Blogger era. That means no notes, project photos or even finished garment photos were properly taken.
This dress was made a while ago and was waiting for its photo session. Here are the photos, finally.

Cabled vintage cardigan
I did button shopping on the weekend. I am very happy with these copper rustic metal-like buttons. Dusty pink hand painted Madelinetosh Vintage yarn in colour shade 'Isadora' has so many subtle shades that would be difficult to match exactly. Not sure where I could find any plastic, fabric or glass buttons pairing perfectly with these pink shades.
This cardigan was knitted without using any particular pattern. Top down construction using basic Contiguous method with some modifications. Did some math to calculate stitch count needed to establish horse shoe cable pattern and then increased/decreased cables to shape waist as I was knitting. Alternated two skeins at a time. Unfortunately the yarn was rather variegated instead of semi solid I aimed for. I feel there is a wee bit too much colour shade variations at places but that's hand painted after all.
Details: ribbing, cables, vertical button holes, rounded bottom edge. Ravelry project page here.

Yay! Something got finished!
I have finished my cowl. Other WIPs I showed earlier are very close to finish too but I have to weave in ends and find matching buttons which I suspect will not be that easy. Will post photos when finished properly.
I must admit the cowl turned out to be not a very successful project. I designed it as I was knitting along and it is a simple triangle shawl joined midway and then knitted in the round. It is warm and cosy and somewhat versatile and easy to wear. But I just don't feel the love for it. Might think of something else to use this yarn for as it is such a gorgeous moss green colour.
Also posting some autumn leaves just because they are beautiful. Its lovely season here at the moment apart from being freezing cold. Warm knits come just in time.

WIP - Madelinetosh winter knits
I am not good at finishing anything at the moment but I keep to casting on enthusiastically. Here is what I am working on. Cowl, cardigan and sweater all in various stages of development.

Just had to share..
..my recent yarn parcel :) It might well be the most beautiful lot of yarn I have ever had in my possession. Pinks gonna turn into girl's cardigans or tunics, green will be something for myself and I am yet unsure about the beige.
Madelinetosh from Happy Knits webstore, mostly Vintage, some Tosh dk and some Sport. Lovely soft and luxurious merino wool yarn. Love knitting with it and watching hand painted colour shades. For lazy people like me superwash is much appreciated feature too.

Cheerful potholders
Last night I made two hot pads to replace our slightly burned and worn out old ones. These simple bright coloured crocheted potholders make me smile.

Slouchy beret and fingerless mittens for Lattice shawl
From the leftover yarn I made simple slouchy beret and fingerless mittens to go with Lattice shawl. Nice and easy instant gratification project.
