Pink and brown dress - done!

Finished this on Dec 31st and pics (except the last photo) are taken in our backyard just before we left the house to go see fireworks. For some reasons this dress is a hit and little girl has literally lived in it for a past few days as she really loves it.

Next day I added little snowflake embellishment on front as seen on the last picture. Maybe will add some more as per request (constantly repeated!) of dress owner.

WIP brown and pale pink

I have always liked pale pink and chocolate brown combination but my girls seemed to favour only pink with no additions. Last night I just happened to see these two yarns side by side and started knitting instantly regardless of future owners disapproval. Luckily she was very happy this morning when saw this knit.

Would be nice to finish tonight but I don't think that's going to happen. Tomorrow would be good too but not sure of that either as I have some other knitting projects to be finished some time soon. Though the knitted piece is almost twice the size as WIP photo taken earlier today when we had just the perfect weather and very enjoyable for outdoor knitting.

Stripey contiguous jacket

Of course, I had to try this new top-down construction. Top-down or bottom-up raglans so far are the seamless methods I mostly use although those set certain limitations to designs. So I was keen to find another way to knit seamlessly. I really liked contiguous method, in spite of the first not-so-successful jacket I made using this method. I should have done some more serious calculations before starting, especially regarding sleeve increases. As always, urge to start project was stronger than fear to face mistakes afterwards.

Ah, and this project is made with recycled yarn. I frogged my wool blend mittens, hat and scarf set to reuse the yarn. I realized I wouldn't have ever worn those again and colours were just right for my little miss wardrobe.

Traditional run-away shot at the end of pictures ;)

Hair bow in pink

By request I made this hair bow. Did crocheted square and tied with crochet chain and joined at the back on three strands of crocheted chains. Pink and girly is all that matters to a 2 year old.
